Ramesys selected as preferred Building Schools for the Future ICT bidder in Tameside

Ramesys, in partnership with Carillion, has been selected as the preferred ICT bidder for the £14.5 million Tameside Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme.

The LEP will initially deliver twelve secondary and special schools in the current wave of the BSF programme. Construction work will begin in mid 2008.

The LEP will also deliver further new schools for Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council in subsequent waves of the BSF programme, and may deliver other community and regeneration projects, subject to receiving the necessary approvals.

Ramesys Chief Executive, Mark Chambers said: 'Ramesys is delighted to be working with Carillion again and supporting Tameside to deliver their educational vision for the future.

It is our intention to support children and young people effectively to realise their full potential so that they become successful participants in our 21st century society, in Tameside and beyond.'

Councillor Roy Oldham, Executive Leader of Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council said: "This project represents the best opportunity to invest in our schools in generations. Not only will it transform buildings, it will also enable us to improve the educational attainment for young people, providing them with more opportunities to access education, training and employment.'
