Objectives

To participate in and aid development of a high performance team of Senior Support Engineers. Excellent technical and communication skills are required to ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction. Supporting both external customers, and other internal technical resources.

This role is highly customer focused, and requires that clients are regularly contacted. Equal emphasis is placed on developing technical skills, product knowledge and customer interaction.

Key Tasks

  • Provision of support to large high availability networks requiring an understanding of a wide range of technologies.
  • Ability to communicate with customers at all levels. To explain complex technical issues in a simple, relevant manner.
  • Proficient in writing customer facing solution and process reports.
  • Act as part of a team providing expert and creative solutions to complex problems in a timely manner.
  • Provide information for, and assist where required in the development and enhancement of company support procedures.
  • Liaise with and assist other technical and sales departments to develop solutions in line with customer requirements.
  • To participate in the professional and technical development of junior team members.
  • Have technical ownership of specific customer accounts. Co-operating with Service Account Managers to ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Proactively identify new areas of technical requirement to enhance customer support delivery.
  • Take ownership of problems and ensure root cause resolution.
  • Uphold Ramesys Information Security Policy and report suspected incidents and observed weaknesses.
  • Technically driven to keep abreast of new and emerging technologies.

Skills and qualifications

Essential

  • 3 -5 Years professional experience:
  • Microsoft Server –Technologies
  • Good knowledge of Active Directory.
  • Cisco PIX
  • Network & TCP/IP Comms.
  • Microsoft Exchange Server
  • Technical qualifications:
  • - CNE or
  • - MCSE
  • - CCNA
  • Full, clean, driving licence is essential for travel to customer sites

Desirable

  • 4-6 Years professional experience
  • Technical and Service Delivery experience
  • Proactive Server Monitoring Tools.
  • Citrix Server
  • SQL Server Administration
  • Lotus Domino Admin R5/R6
  • Good understanding of Firewalls & VPN Technologies (Cisco PIX, ISA 2004, Checkpoint, Stonegate, Symantec etc.)

Hours

09:00 to17:30, Monday to Friday - standard, however flexibility required in line with customer needs
